KA120 Erasmus Accreditation in VET, School Education and Adult Education: the application, step by step

What the official form asks, how it is scored, and how you write it in AvenEU. Updated 2026-10-08 from the Erasmus+ Programme Guide 2026 and the 2026 call for proposals.

AvenEU works on the latest published call documents; a new call's documents may differ.

What it is

An Erasmus accreditation is not a project grant: an organisation in vocational education and training, school education or adult education applies with an Erasmus Plan and, if accredited, gains simplified access to Key Action 1 mobility funding. The Erasmus Plan covers between two and five years and between one and ten objectives, and the application has no budget. It is assessed against four scored criteria, separately for each of the three fields.

Who can apply
VET: organisations providing initial or continuing vocational education and training; local and regional public authorities, coordination bodies and other organisations with a role in VET; and companies and other public or private organisations hosting, training or otherwise working with learners and apprentices in VET. School education: schools providing general education at pre-primary, primary or secondary level, including organisations providing early childhood education and care, and local and regional public authorities, coordination bodies and other organisations with a role in school education. Adult education: organisations providing formal, informal and non-formal adult education, and local and regional public authorities, coordination bodies and other organisations with a role in adult education. Applicants must be established in an EU Member State or a third country associated to the Programme and have at least two years of relevant experience in the field of the application.
Individual or consortium
An organisation applies as an individual organisation or as the coordinator of a mobility consortium — a group of organisations from the same country implementing mobility activities as part of a joint Erasmus Plan. Consortium members do not need an Erasmus accreditation.

Erasmus Plan and validity
The Erasmus Plan covers between two and five years. Each call for proposals sets the date from which the accreditations it awards are valid; they then run for the duration of the current programming period.
Funding
None at this stage: the accreditation carries no grant and the form has no budget. Accredited organisations gain simplified access to Key Action 1 funding through accredited mobility projects, applied for separately.
Deadlines
Deadlines are set in each year's call. Check the current deadline with your National Agency.
How many applications
An organisation can apply once in each of the three fields covered by this call: adult education, vocational education and training, and school education.
Who cannot take part
  • Organisations that already have an Erasmus accreditation cannot apply for a new accreditation in the same field.
  • It is not possible to apply for both types of accreditation — individual organisation and consortium coordinator — in the same field.

How it is scored

CriterionMaximumMinimum
Relevance105
Erasmus Plan: Objectives4020
Erasmus Plan: Activities2010
Erasmus Plan: Management3015

To be considered for funding an application must score at least 70 points out of 100. It must also score at least half the maximum on every single criterion, which is the minimum column above.

An application scoring 75 overall but 18 on Erasmus Plan: Objectives is rejected. Clearing the overall threshold is not enough on its own — one criterion below its minimum ends the application, however strong the rest is.

In case more than one application has the same score as the last one to be awarded, the maximum number of awarded accreditations will be increased to include all applications with that score.

The limits you cannot see

Every field has a character limit that does not appear in the Commission's PDF template — it only becomes visible once the call opens and you are inside the live form. AvenEU carries these limits, verified against the live form of the latest round, and enforces them as you write.

How you write it in AvenEU

  • ✦The form itself, with the real sections of the Erasmus Plan — objectives, activities and management — in the official order.
  • ✦EUri analyses each section against the accreditation's own four criteria, using the correct maximum and the minimum each must reach.
  • ✦Export in the structure of the official form, section by section, for transfer into the submission system.
