KA153 Mobility of Youth Workers: the application, step by step

What the official form asks, how it is scored, and how you write it in AvenEU. Updated 2026-09-22 from the Erasmus+ Programme Guide 2026.

What it is

Mobility of youth workers supports the professional development of youth workers through activities lasting 2 to 60 days, run by at least two organisations from different countries. One organisation applies on behalf of all the participating organisations. The grant is built from unit costs, and the application is assessed against three scored criteria.

Who can apply
Any eligible participating organisation established in an EU Member State or a third country associated to the Programme; it applies on behalf of all participating organisations. A participating organisation can be a non-profit organisation, association or NGO; a European Youth NGO; a public body at local, regional or national level; a social enterprise; or a profit-making body active in corporate social responsibility and with proven experience in the youth field, provided its involvement does not have a commercial purpose.
Partnership and participants
At least two participating organisations — at least one sending and one receiving — from different countries, which may include organisations from third countries not associated to the Programme neighbouring the EU (regions 1 to 4). At least one sending or receiving organisation in each activity must be from the country of the National Agency the application goes to. Participants are at least 16 years old; each activity has up to 50 participants, and participants from the country of the receiving organisation must be involved in each one.
Fields
YOU
Duration
3 to 24 months. Each activity lasts 2 to 60 days, excluding travel days; the minimum 2 days must be consecutive. Each project must include at least one Professional Development Activity.
Funding
Unit costs, not a lump sum: organisational support per participant, travel by distance band, individual support per participant per day (at most 1100 EUR per person), inclusion support, preparatory visits, and real costs for system development and outreach activities. The Guide states no maximum grant per project.
Deadlines
Deadlines are set in each year's call. Check the current deadline with your National Agency.
How many applications
The same organisation (one OID) cannot be involved in more than 5 applications per deadline in this action, either as applicant or partner.
Restrictions
  • Informal groups of young people: the Guide does not list them as participating organisations in this action.
  • Activities cannot take place in Belarus or Russia.

How it is scored

CriterionMaximumMinimum
Relevance, rationale and impact3015
Quality of the project design and implementation4020
Quality of project management3015

To be considered for funding an application must score at least 60 points out of 100. It must also score at least half the maximum on every single criterion, which is the minimum column above.

An application scoring 72 overall but 19 on quality of the project design and implementation is rejected. Clearing the overall threshold is not enough on its own — one criterion below its minimum ends the application, however strong the rest is.

The limits you cannot see

Every field has a character limit that does not appear in the Commission's PDF template — it only becomes visible once the call opens and you are inside the live form. AvenEU carries these limits, verified against the live form of the latest round, and enforces them as you write.

How you write it in AvenEU

  • ✦The form itself, with the real sections and every activity the project plans — you write inside the structure the assessors will read, not a blank document.
  • ✦EUri analyses each section against the criterion that actually scores it, using the correct maximum and the minimum that criterion must reach.
  • ✦A unit-cost budget calculator for the activities you plan, on the Guide's rates for this action.
  • ✦Partner suggestions from Erasmus+ data, filtered to the countries the action admits.
  • ✦Export in the structure of the official form, section by section, for transfer into the submission system.
