KA182 Mobility of Sport Staff: the application, step by step
What the official form asks, how it is scored, and how you write it in AvenEU. Updated 2026-09-22 from the Erasmus+ Programme Guide 2026.
What it is
Mobility of sport staff lets a grassroots sport organisation send its coaches, other sport staff and volunteers abroad, for job shadowing and observation periods of 2 to 14 days or coaching and training assignments of 7 to 45 days. The applicant acts as the sending organisation: it selects the participants and sends them to a hosting organisation abroad. The grant is built from unit costs, and the application is assessed against three scored criteria.
- Who can apply
- A public or private organisation active in the sport and physical activity field and organising sport and physical activities at grassroots level (for example a non-profit organisation, a local public authority or a sport club), or a non-grassroots sport organisation whose staff participation benefits grassroots sport (for example an international organisation or a national sport federation). The applicant must be established in an EU Member State or a third country associated to the Programme, and applies to the National Agency of that country.
- Partnership and participants
- The applicant sends participants to a hosting organisation abroad; the Guide states no minimum number of participating organisations. At most 10 participants per project, not counting participants in preparatory visits and people accompanying participants with fewer opportunities.
- Fields
- SPO
- Duration
- 3 to 18 months. Job shadowing and observation periods last 2 to 14 consecutive days, and coaching and training assignments 7 to 45 consecutive days, excluding travel days.
- Funding
- Unit costs, not a lump sum: organisational support, travel, individual support (published as a range per country group; each National Agency sets the exact rate), inclusion support, preparatory visits, linguistic support and exceptional costs. The Guide states no cap on the total grant.
- Deadlines
- Deadlines are set in each year's call. Check the current deadline with your National Agency.
- How many applications
- An organisation may submit only one application per selection round. An organisation that receives a grant in the first round may not apply for the second round of the same call.
- Activities cannot have a profit-making purpose.
- Attending courses, paid or unpaid, is not an eligible activity.
- Participants cannot take part in the mobility in a capacity of athletes.
How it is scored
| Criterion | Maximum | Minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Relevance and impact | 30 | 15 |
| Quality of the project design and implementation | 40 | 20 |
| Quality of follow-up actions | 30 | 15 |
To be considered for funding an application must score at least 60 points out of 100. It must also score at least half the maximum on every single criterion, which is the minimum column above.
An application scoring 72 overall but 14 on quality of follow-up actions is rejected. Clearing the overall threshold is not enough on its own — one criterion below its minimum ends the application, however strong the rest is.

The limits you cannot see
Every field has a character limit that does not appear in the Commission's PDF template — it only becomes visible once the call opens and you are inside the live form. AvenEU carries these limits, verified against the live form of the latest round, and enforces them as you write.
How you write it in AvenEU
- ✦The form itself, with the real sections and every activity the project plans — you write inside the structure the assessors will read, not a blank document.
- ✦EUri analyses each section against the criterion that actually scores it, using the correct maximum and the minimum that criterion must reach.
- ✦A unit-cost budget calculator for the activities you plan, on the Guide's rates — where the Guide gives only a range, you enter your National Agency's rate.
- ✦Partner suggestions from Erasmus+ data, filtered to the countries the action admits.
- ✦Export in the structure of the official form, section by section, for transfer into the submission system.
